binary house
A combined family home with identically adjacent house units, which caters to two related joint families. The house marks unity in diversity with each unit marked between parallel set of walls. Linearly placed series of spaces mark the gradation of public to private spaces of the houses. The front yard- the middle court and the back yard accentuates the organization while bringing light and air within the core of the houses separately. The front yard acts as an outer court defined by a “Baithak” which invites people from the street to come in and interact. The higher levels overlook this outer court and increase interaction of the inhabitants with the street.
